Dear Sir Knights & Ladies,

  Happy New Year, getting a rough start for the new year but it is so cold so things just move slower until they warm up. Our meeting was moved to the second Thursday due to the inclement weather and this Tuesday the 4th degree is requested for vespers at St. Mathews for our new Bishop. Congrats go to our Faithful Pilot Tom & Beth Marvel ←← click here) on their union in marriage last weekend you can visit them there on the blue hyperlink for those getting this message on email. Father Lawrence is in Nigeria and at least he is enjoying 80* weather he will be back the 2nd of February. Lets pray for his safe return.

   Operation Quiet Comfort campaign has a good start we have been collecting donations from as far off as Washing State let’s see if we can set a goal of $1000 to help the cause. I had hoped to get an ad in for the Bishops new paper and we approved the money but lo and behold it did not make the deadline in time or there was a mix-up at the press, never the less I will get to the bottom of it and apply credit to an Ad in Today’s Catholic for our Support of them.

   Another project I was working on now has a new name now associated with it, Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne, and who and why am I bringing here up now? About 20 years ago when I had arrived in a small town in Plymouth Indiana I was given the task to watch over the family business and last year 2008, I found out that the family business that I now have, once belonged to Chief Menominee way back in 1838. Much to my amaze the inhabitants of old gave up their land on a trek for their lives ending up at a place called Sugar Creek Mission. Last year I went on a Caravan to recap the Indians trek across America and hoped to discover something about Fr. Petit, but have discovered a Saint instead. I then discovered the Knight’s of Columbus has a Memorial park there that was once the Sugar Creek Mission. I was completely overtaken on the discovery and then came to a realization that here I am at the possible site of the Menominee Villages of the1800’s. Since a New Church dedication has to be a Saint, I found her a place in Indiana!

Herman, Tom Arata daughter Kathy, Merl Battels, & and all other aches and pains of getting old.

Color Corps

 

Please give Sir Knight Mick Linsdell a call at 919-381-7788 if you can attend any of the color corps events. Color Corp. needs 8 Sir Knights in full Regalia for the Vesper Mass Tuesday Jan 12th at St. Mathews Cathedral to Welcome our new Bishop Here. The Right to Life March is slated for Sunday Jan 17th 2009 Honor Guard requested be there by 1:30pm.
